Disney All Star Movies ResortThe Disney All Star Movie resort is for those of you who thrill to Disney movies. Where else can you find more-than-life-size figures of Buzz Lightyear and Herbie the Love Bug (just to name two)? Watch out! Here come the 101 Dalmatians romping around. Well, romping around on the buildings, that is. The Disney All Star Movies resort is one of the extraordinarily popular Disney Value resorts, which provide the most affordable rates for stay at Disney. Out and AboutThe free Disney guest transportation is by bus to Downtown Disney, the Disney theme parks and also the Disney waterparks. The All Star Movies resort is located in the Animal Kingdom area. Staying at the Disney All Star Movies ResortThis Disney Value resort has a total of 1,920 guest rooms, spread out in multiple buildings. The guest room entrances are on the outside of the buildings, as opposed to being in an inside hallway. Since the resort is so spread out, here's a hint -- you can get a "preferred location" room (at an additional cost) that is closer to the guest facilities, such as to food court, transportation and the pools. While prices are subject to change, it's around $12 more per night for such a room. If you (or someone in your party) have problems walking long distances, you may want to consider a preferred location. High-speed internet access is available in the rooms, for an extra fee (roughly $10 a day). The guest rooms at this resort are roughly 260 square feet in size, and feature either two double beds or one king bed. The rooms are decorated according to the theme of the building in which they are located. (FYI, if you are interested in a room with a king bed, you can't reserve them -- they are first-come first-served upon check in. Also, there may be an extra charge for a king-bed room.) There aren't any suites at the Disney All Star Movies resort -- just guest rooms. All of the guest rooms have a maximum occupancy of 4 people. (If you need a family suite, check out the All Star Music resort.) To get an idea of the room rates, visit the Disney World resort rates page. I've said it before, but it's worth repeating -- the Disney All Star resorts are really popular, so book your reservation as far in advance as you can. Are You Hungry Yet?There aren't any table-service restaurants at the All Star Movies resort, but there is a large food court with lots of offerings. The food court is called the "World Premier ", and it's located in Cinema Hall. Much like a mall food court, you'll find traditional fast food, such as burgers, fries and pizza. But there are also counters for deli-style foods, as well as vegetarian offerings. Take a stroll around the food court, because you're bound to find something intriguing! Pizza delivery as room service is also available. Disney All Star Resort ActivitiesThe pools at the All STar resorts are awesome, and the All Star Movies pools are no exception. The two themed pools at this resort are called Fantasia and Might Ducks. For the tots, a a kiddie pool is available. For the kids who have all kinds of energy, there is a playground located between the Fantasia and the Toy Story buildings. And last but not least, there is the Reel Fun Arcade, which is located near the food court in Cinema Hall. What Else?In addition to everything else mentioned, there are also:
One last thing to know -- the All Star Disney resorts have an extra bed tax with the stay -- about 1.5% more than the Pop Century. That can add up, if you're planning a week's stay, so keep it in mind. Have a great Walt Disney World vacation at the All Star Movies resort!
