Disney Old Key West Resort

The Disney Old Key West resort is getting to be a large complex. For atmosphere - the Florida Keys in old town Key West. Think pastel buildings, a tropical feel -- but all Disney!

This Vacation Club resort is located in the Downtown Disney area. This means you can spend a day at the parks, then a night enjoying the myriad delights of Downtown Disney. You can go "Downtown" using the complimentary Disney transportation (bus).

The transportation from the Old Key West resort and villas to the theme parks, resorts and other Disney locations is also via bus.

On-site facilities include two restaurants - a snack stand and a casual restaurant. However, there is no character dining, at this particular resort.

The snack stand is called "Good's Food to Go " and serves snacks which you can enjoy on one of the many picnic tables.

The casual restaurant is "Olivia's Cafe" and serves American -style foods for breakfast, lunch and dinner.

The Old Key West resort has four heated pools, but no themed pool. There is a kiddie pool and some spas available though.

Activities at the Disney Old Key West Resort

The Old Key West resort is fairly laid-back, but there is still plenty to see and do.

• Rent a boat (pontoon boat, sailboat, etc.)
• Visit the R.E.S.T. Beach Recreation Department
• Jog or walk a 1.5 mile trail
• Board games and such at the Community Hall
• Check out the arcade (interestingly named the Electric Eel)
• Play volleyball, tennis, basketball or shuffleboard
• Rent a bicycle
• Take the kids to the playground

There are 761 units, which means there might be a bit of a wait for transportation to the theme parks at certain times of the year. The studios at Disney's Old Key West resort are roughly 360 square feet, and have either two double beds or a double bed and a sleeper sofa. There is a maximum of four occupants for a studio.

For the villas themselves, occupancy is up to eight people per villa, depending on the size. The one and two bedroom villas include a full-size washer and dryer (talk about convenient). The one and two bedroom villas also include a whirlpool tub...oh-so-comfortable after a day at the parks!

High-speed internet access is available for an extra fee.
