Walt Disney World Dolphin

The Walt Disney World Dolphin resort is located in the heart of Disney.  Nestled between MGM and EPCOT, the Dolphin is convenient to the parks.

But it also shares a secret with the Walt Disney World Swan -- they are not owned or operated by Disney!

The Dolphin is a lovely and unique resort; let's take a peek inside. 

Consider a Stay at the Walt Disney World Dolphin Hotel

The first reason is the price; the Walt Disney World Dolphin is quite a bit less than many of the official Disney resorts.  Especially around the holidays, it can be substantially less!  So it makes sense (and cents) to stay here.

Next, the Dolphin guests have the same priviledges as regular Disney resort guests. They share the same complimentary transportation to the parks and Downtown Disney. 

Walt Disney Dolphin resort guests also share in the Extra Magic Hour, and advance tee times for the Disney golf courses.

There are myriad restaraunts, snack stand and lounges between the Dolphin and Swan, with everything from Signature dining to casual to Disney Character Dining.  So you don't miss any of the magic when it comes to mealtime!

The rooms are spacious and now include the "Heavenly Beds" which are extra-comfortable.  And very welcome after a hard day in the parks!

Disney Dolphin Hotel: Location, Location, Location

Located near The Yacht Club, Disney's Boardwalk, EPCOT and MGM, the Disney Dolphin hotel is in a prime spot.

You can very easily walk to EPCOT (about 10 minutes) or take the complimentary water taxi.  I don't suggest walking to MGM, but rather take the water taxi.  They run roughly every 15 minutes.

The Magic Kingdom, Animal Kingdom, Downtown Disney and the waterparks are just a complimentary bus ride away.

It's Cheaper at the Walt Disney Dolphin Resort

I imagine it's because this isn't a Disney owned and operated hotel, but I've discovered something interesting.

The Dolphin and Swan resorts tend to be less expensive than the equivalent resorts (Disney Moderate).

Aside from not having a Disney room card that you can use to buy things around Disney, it's pretty much the same kind of Disney friendliness you come to expect!
